Remote Design Services
I just assisted a client remotely. She sent me pictures of her rooms, we e-mailed and spoke on the phone about design elements that she had already chosen, and those that were yet undecided. I gave her specific design direction in terms of soft goods (windows, cushions), paint colors, lighting and flooring. She is going to implement and consult with S Interior Design as needed.
Should we do more of this sort of design consultation work? It was very satisfying for the client, not to mention budget friendly.

Colors That Make Us Smile
The color scheme of this Blog are the same (ok, very close) as the color scheme used in my master bedroom. The ceiling (the fifth wall) is a light blue, the quilt is brown, the area rug is green and the drapery uses all these colors together. Is it a fluke that this blog scheme appealed to me? Probably not. As I consistently tell my clients, color choice is a very personal, physiological based decision set. It is almost as if we are ‘hard wired’ when it comes to color choices for our walls or our clothing. It defines our comfort zone. That said, I will always encourage a client to reach outside their color comfort zone . Very often the results are a pleasant surprise.
