No denying it. Unless you live in a box, the holiday season is clearly upon us as evidenced by the Christmas decorating items for sale just about everywhere. It is not your imagination. It starts earlier and earlier each year. If you celebrate Hanukkah, it actually begins on the eve of Thanksgiving this year (yes, Thanksgiving!).
When we are young it is an exciting time of year filled with anticipation of days off from school, gifts and great food. When you are older, it can conjure up feelings of STRESS! Deck the halls, send the cards, plan the meals……
This year we have decided not to let the mass media dictate what and when we do things. Yes we will celebrate, yes we will decorate, and yes we will likely STRESS a bit. But we are also going to have FUN!!
We think the greatest gift you can give yourself is permission to be less than perfect in your Holiday planning and execution. Take a hike on Christmas day with your family, stay in your pajamas all day long, don’t clean the kitchen dishes, and most of all don’t forget to laugh and smile.
